ERCES through MRI shielding
& JCAHO compliance

Novi Medical Center presented MRI shielding that defeats public-safety RF. WZC engineered a six-sector ERCES that meets both JCAHO and IFC 510 — delivered in three weeks with first-pass AHJ approval.

The project

Coverage engineered aroundMRI shielding

MRI suites are built to keep RF out — the same shielding that protects imaging equipment also defeats public-safety radio signal. At Novi Medical Center, that made ordinary ERCES design impossible and demanded an engineering answer.

WZC's answer was a six-sector ERCES design on the COMBA CriticalPoint platform, sectorized so first-responder coverage holds throughout the facility despite the shielded imaging environment.

The design had to satisfy two rulebooks at once — JCAHO healthcare accreditation requirements and IFC 510 fire code. WZC met both, completed the project in three weeks, and earned full first-pass AHJ approval.
